Top 20 Singers In Metal

So what makes a good singer.  Lets see harmony, range, character, stamina, and soul.  When you talk about heavy metal there's always the stereo type that the singers don't sing they scream.  The ones that do anyways, and you know what they're right.  It's not singing it is screaming, but thats where the character and soul come into play.  Also range, the lows and highs in that scream are definitely measured.  Also when it comes to singing in a metal band you have to take into consideration the style of metal that they are playing.  There's death metal, nu-metal, speed, thrash, metal-core, symphonic metal, melodic death metal, progressive death metal, glam metal, grunge metal, and progressive metal just to name a few.  So with all of those variances in metal there are different types of vocals that go along with those styles.  So this top 20 will incorporate a lot of the different styles of singing that goes along with metal.  So here they are.

So finally here they are, the singers.  The singers that I think have given us so many great lyrics in the past, and some that are still doing it strong.  I think that words can be the strongest instrument in a band if used the right way.  Some singers are more passionate about the lyrics, some are more energetic, some deeper, higher, some scream, and some have both screaming and melodic singing.  I personally like the singers that can have both melodic and screaming vocals.  To me that's the total package.  I know there are some that wouldn't agree.  Some say there is no room for melodic singing in metal.  That its all about how hard you can scream that makes you a true metal band.  Then there are some that say its how high or low you can sing that makes you a great metal singer.  Either opinion I like a lot of bands in both of the worlds of metal singing.  So here they are, my top 20 metal singers.  I hope you enjoyed it.  If anyone finds a new group or musician that they come to love from my page than my job is done.  I feel a duty to music to spread the word about this music, and how good all of these guys are.  They deserve so much more respect than they already get.  So until next time.  Stay hard, stay heavy.
